Speak Dutch with confidence, even when they switch to English
Personal, low-pressure lessons with a qualified teacher of Dutch Language & Culture. One-on-one or in a small group, from anywhere in the world.
Who it's for
Whether you need Dutch for work, family, a move or simply love the language:
- Complete beginners to near-native speakers (A1–C2)
- Anyone living in, or moving to, the Netherlands or Belgium
- Partners and families of Dutch speakers
- Dutch speakers abroad, adults and children, keeping up their Dutch
- Exam candidates: Staatsexamen NT2 (B1/B2) and the inburgeringsexamen
My approach
Speaking comes first. Most of each lesson is spent talking, with attention to confidence and pronunciation. It doesn't have to be perfect: it's about doing it.
- Practise real situations you bring in, at work or in daily life
- Build the vocabulary you actually need
- One main topic per lesson
- My own material, tailored to you: nothing to buy
How much self-study you do is up to you, from none at all to a few hours a week. We'll find what fits in the intro chat and adjust along the way.

About me
I'm Eva (32). For years I taught Dutch in adult education in the Netherlands. Now I live near Lausanne, Switzerland, where I'm learning French myself. So I know exactly what it's like to want to join the conversation, and how much the right teacher and plenty of speaking practice help.
I hold a Master's in Dutch Language & Literature from the University of Amsterdam and a teaching Master's from VU Amsterdam, which fully qualifies me to teach Dutch at all secondary school levels.
In my lessons, you do most of the talking. Above all, I want our lessons to be gezellig, a Dutch word with no real English translation. Curious? Ask me in our first lesson!
FAQ
Full details are in the terms & conditions.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. I teach every level, from your very first words (A1) to near-native (C2). In the intro chat we find out where you are.
What do I need for an online lesson?
A laptop or tablet, headphones and a quiet spot. Lessons run on Google Meet: just click the link, no installation needed.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before the lesson, by email. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged. Group lessons go ahead if someone can't make it.
How long is a package valid?
Packages of 4 lessons are valid for 3 months, packages of 8 for 6 months. I'll send a reminder before yours expires.
Do you teach children?
Yes. Dutch-speaking children abroad who want to keep up their Dutch, and children who are moving to the Netherlands or Belgium and need to learn the language. Lessons can be split into shorter sessions. Let's discuss what works in the intro chat.
Can you help me prepare for an exam?
Yes. For the Staatsexamen NT2, Programme I (B1) for work or vocational training, or Programme II (B2), which most Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences require for admission. And for the inburgeringsexamen. We'll agree in the intro chat how much self-study suits your exam date.
