Privacy statement
I handle your personal data with care and only use it to give you good Dutch lessons. This statement explains what I collect, why, and what your rights are. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for students in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
Eva Hageman, Chemin du Corgeon 15, 1095 Lutry, Switzerland · eva@evahageman.com
2. What data I collect, and why
- When you book an intro chat: your name and email address, to schedule and confirm the chat.
- Intake form: what you share about your languages, goals, Dutch level and availability, to prepare our lessons.
- During lessons: notes on your progress, new words and feedback, to plan your lessons. If we share a lesson document or folder, you can see these notes too.
- Invoices and payments: your name, address and payment details, to invoice you and keep my accounts.
- Emails: what you write to me, to answer your questions and arrange lessons.
I use this data to carry out our agreement, to meet legal obligations (such as keeping accounts) and, for answering questions before you book, because you ask me to.
3. Services I use
To run my lessons, I use a few external services. They process data on my behalf:
- Google (Calendar, Meet, Forms, Drive and Gmail): for booking, video lessons, the intake form, lesson notes and email. Google may store data outside Switzerland and the EU, including in the United States. Google participates in the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and forwards email sent to eva@evahageman.com. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the website securely.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on this website are loaded from Google's servers. Your browser then shares your IP address with Google.
I never sell your data and never share it with others, unless the law requires it.
4. Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.
5. Recordings
Lessons are only recorded if we both agree beforehand. Recordings are for your own use and are deleted when no longer needed.
6. How long I keep your data
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as Swiss law requires.
- Intake answers and lesson notes: up to 12 months after our last lesson.
- Emails: as long as needed to answer your question or arrange our lessons.
7. Your rights
You may ask me at any time which data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it, or to send it to you. Just email me. If you are not satisfied with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the EU, with the data protection authority in your country.
8. Changes
I may update this statement. The latest version is always on this page.
